Angora or mohair?..

What's the difference between them? Yeah, it's obvious: mohair wool fabric is obtained from angora goat and angora wool fabric from angora rabbit. Everyone knows that but that's the definition. Let's go further...

Angora has a extraordinary smooth, silky texture making it difficult to spin; can shrink if the water is too hot. Angora wool tends to be very warm. Desirable characteristics of the fiber include its texture, warmth, lightweight, and pure white color. Pure angora wool is impossible to make, because the fibers are too fine and the wool will simply unravel. Angora fibers are usually mixed with other soft fibers, such as cashmere and lambswool.

Mohair is very elastic; it can be stretched up to 30%, and will spring back to shape. Easy to Wash - it doesn't shrink.
Mohair easily absorbs and releases moisture, moving perspiration away from the skin. It is comfortable to wear in cold and hot weather.
One of mohair's most important qualities is its ability to take dye and to display brilliant colors that resist fading by time or hard wear. Mohair's smooth fibers can be made into fabrics that have a cooling effect. It is ideal for summer garments.

Summing up, angora is more luxurious, mohair practical.

Now I get it why berets and hats are always made from mohair never from angora. "When the rain comes"...  Above my lilac outfit: angora cardigan, angora  polo neck and animal print mohair beret. Inspired by the style icon of all time - great BB.

DIY

An old leather envelope bag done with studs. Those little fellows accidentally act like the most popular English word. It looked much more classy before but I'm rebellious lately... With that bag there is no limit. Should I say "I'm the best f* the rest!" holding it next time?!

Russian Aristocracy

I don't know why but I'm surprisingly fine with that retro stylization... It's not my certain style at all but do I have a certain style? I start to doubt it. I was in a romantic mood so I went vintage!

from sunset to sunrise...

Sweet memory of last holidays, when everything was possible. For a while I was thinking - I'm in heaven... God, I was soooo naive.
 ...

In this pic: me, my best friend and my powder pink (almost) silk dress :)

"in a place where we can make it happen
where impossible is possible
and i kinda like it
and i want it
(...)
got to have it
when you want it
it sure feels good to me

it's the way you make me feel
when you hold me closely baby,
it's the way you make me feel
from sunset to sunrise..."

an ordinary black T-shirt

I spent 3,99 for a black T-shirt to do something with it later. I've bought gold spray and found some old jewelery in a drawer... But before everything I tried to use it as an outfit. How it went? First with leopard print body which is a bit too small (I'm going to fix it next week) and likes to slide down when I've got no bra. That's why I don't wear it in a proper way for now. My D-cup makes it look, well not sexy, rather vulgar.

With that T-shirt and skinny jeans, printed body looks alright, I guess.

Dark bow and The Red Army

Strictly office suit but  not so obvious - brown bow-headband makes the difference. My inspiration for this outfit was miss Blair Waldorf and Tarantino's "Hell ride" (motorcycle boots). Sometimes I do believe that less is more.

17.03.1969 - 11.02.2010

It's sad news for all fashion lovers. Our great designer and British fashion icon, Alexander McQueen has taken his own life today. He died at the age of 40. We have lost a great artist. Forever...

I would like to express my condolences to his family and close friends...
It's right time to mention the woman who discovered Alexander and his close friend - an international style icon Isabella Blow who also commit a suicide. She ended her life by drinking the deadly weedkiller paraquat in May 2007. The editor died in hospital at the age of 48.

It's good to hear that charity is still in. Svarovski and 22 best designers support the Fashion Against Cancer idea. Each designer created one little black dress with using Svarovski elements and I have to say, all dresses are breathtaking!

My top 3:

Givenchy

Armani Prive

Especially the last one is just stunning!

In September all of them will be sold at auction to benefit the American Cancer Society and la Ligue Nationale Contre le Cancer in France. For some more info click here.
